Biography: John David Wall was born in Houston, Texas, on April 6, 1967. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1989 with a B.S.B.A. degree in Accounting and Data Processing and enrolled in the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1992.

While a law student, David worked as a clerk at Fayetteville’s Bassett Law Firm. After gaining his admission to the bar, David commenced his distinguished law career as an associate in the Bassett Law Firm. In 1999, David became the tenth partner of the Bassett Law Firm, where he practiced until his untimely death. David was licensed to practice law in the states of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. David primarily defended clients in workers’ compensation, casualty and commercial matters. His professionalism and integrity were absolute, and David garnered the respect of the judiciary, his clients and his opposition.

Throughout his life, David was an avid fisherman and river canoeing enthusiast. He also had a great passion for live music, thoroughbred horse racing, hand-ball, golf and bowling. He was undoubtedly one of the best barbecue chefs in all of Northwest Arkansas. David was a die-hard Razorback football and baseball fan, and his tailgate parties and genuine hospitality were renowned. David strived to ensure that all were welcome in his home. David also had an alumni leadership role in his beloved Gamma Upsilon chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity on the University of Arkansas campus. David was a great citizen and friend of Fayetteville and the University.

David’s dedication, wry smile and sense of humor will be forever missed in the legal community and by those who knew and loved him. Moreover, he was a cherished and loyal friend to all who were blessed enough to have had the opportunity to enjoy his company.
