About the Bassett Law Firm
Bassett Law Firm LLP is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and performs a variety of legal services in the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. The firm is preeminently rated by legal publisher Martindale-Hubbell, and has been recognized by the national publication Corporate Counsel as a full service law firm. The firm is an equal opportunity employer.
Since the firm’s founding in October 1981 by the late Bill Bassett and his two sons, Woody and Tod, Bassett Law Firm LLP has enjoyed a variety of accomplishments and sustained growth – in terms of both its lawyers and clients. The foundation of Bassett Law Firm LLP has been and remains each member’s commitment to the service of our clients, our profession, and the communities in which we live.
Regarding its professional standing, Bassett Law Firm LLP has grown over the past quarter-century from a three-lawyer office to a firm recognized by the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal as among the largest in the rapidly-growing Northwest Arkansas region, as well as in Arkansas as a whole.
Although the firm considers its primary measure of success to be the satisfaction of its clients, Bassett Law Firm LLP is grateful for various recognitions over the years, involving the work of both the firm and its particular members. In 2005, Bassett Law Firm LLP was for the third time included in Corporate Counsel magazine’s list of “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies?” The firm’s inclusion in this exclusive list is flattering and unique—it is the only law firm on the list with its principal office located in Northwest Arkansas. In 2006, Small Firm Business included Bassett Law Firm LLP in the publication’s recognition of “Small Firms with Fortune 250 Clients.” Most recently, Bassett Law Firm LLP was selected by CitiScapes Metro Monthly as the area’s “best law firm” in the periodical’s “Best of Northwest Arkansas” edition.
In 2003, partner Woody Bassett was honored with that year’s “Outstanding Lawyer” award by the Arkansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Bar Foundation. That recognition is bestowed annually “in recognition of excellence in the practice of law and outstanding contributions to the profession.” Three of the firm’s partners have been inducted into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, and one partner is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers – an exclusive membership of only about 500 lawyers world-wide. More recently, beginning in 2007, partner W. Dale Garrett has been recognized in the annual editions of Best Lawyers in America and, along with partners Curtis Nebben, Gary Weeks and Shannon Fant, beginning in 2009 was included in the annual Mid South Super Lawyers from Arkansas.
The primary – and ultimate – objective of Bassett Law Firm LLP is to provide clients with quality legal representation. While zealously guarding its reputation for cost-effectively delivering services, Bassett Law Firm LLP is careful to understand its clients’ expectations and perform on plans designed to achieve the best possible results for its clients.Possibly Bassett Law Firm LLP’s proudest achievement is its reliably congenial working atmosphere. With the exception of the unrelated deaths of two partners in 2006, only one partner in the firm’s history has departed the firm – and she retired from the active practice of law and now teaches at the University of Arkansas School of Law. The firm is committed to cultivating an atmosphere of respect and caring among our firm members. To that end, the firm is pleased that in 2009 the United States Department of Defense recognized Bassett Law Firm LLP as one of only three employers in Arkansas to receive the “Pro Patria” award for the most exceptional support of employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserve.
With the firm embarking on its second quarter century of law practice, the members of Bassett Law Firm LLP continue to look squarely at the future and are poised to exceed the high expectations of their clients, their colleagues, their communities, and themselves.
